The Federal Communications Commission proposed rules to more precisely route wireless 911 calls and texts to 911 call centers, which can result in faster response times during emergencies.

Ekinops has been selected by telecom infrastructure provider Bandwidth & Cloud Services Group (BCS) for its network backbone upgrade, which will enhance connectivity throughout Africa. Meanwhile, Clearwave Fiber's installation of ultra-fast, state-of-the-art, all-Fiber Internet network is nearly complete in Lansing, Kansas, enabling over 3,100 locations for fiber services.

Nokia announced that the Societe du Grand Paris (SGP) will deploy its 5G-ready IP/MPLS multiservice, mobile core, and radio access network (RAN) solutions to support the implementation of four automated train lines that link 200 kilometers of Paris and transport up to two million passengers a day.

Vodafone announced that Affectiva is developing AI software that enables machines to detect human emotions and complex cognitive states. Meanwhile, Info-Tech Research Group has published its new industry blueprint titled AI Governance which regards the ethics of using AI.

VERSES announced that a team of fifteen of the world’s leading computational neuroscientists and AI Ph.D.s, in association with universities across Canada, UK, Germany, Australia, The Netherlands, and the USA, published a landmark research white paper describing their novel approach to the design and development of the next generation of AI known as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) intelligent agents with human-level intelligence that can learn, adapt and act in the world.
