New research shows industry advancement. As new Open RAN developments progress, 5G Americas has released “The Evolution of Open RAN”, which provides an update to a 5G Americas’ 2020 report on Open RAN standards. New figures from GSMA Intelligence show 5G connections are expected to double over the next two years, expedited by technological innovations and new 5G network deployments in more than 30 countries in 2023 alone. Of the new networks to be deployed in 2023, it is expected that 15 will be 5G Standalone networks. President Director and CEO of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Vikram Sinha, discussed the story of Indosat, the most successful merger that empowers Indonesia. Vodafone Group Plc has completed the sale of 50 percent of its German fiber-to-the-home company to Altice. The creation of the JV received European Commission approval last month. FibreCo will deploy fiber-to-the-home to up to seven million homes in Germany over a six-year period.
