Gilat joins a distinguished group of board members committed to driving innovation in satellite communication networks through agile, scalable, and cost-effective infrastructure. NEC will launch a new system using biometric authentication technology that is capable of quickly authenticating large numbers of people at one time, even while they are in motion. The system is expected to accelerate admission and reduce congestion for busy events and infrastructure. Datalec Precision Installations built a new manufacturing facility in the United Arab Emirates marking its strong commitment to the region. The dedicated 51,000 square foot facility will produce aisle containment and security caging to DPI’s exacting standards. China Unicom Beijing and Huawei have deployed an ultra-large-scale commercial 5.5G 3CC network in Beijing that covers more than 70 percent of the area within the city's 4th Ring Road. Nokia has been selected by Swisscom Broadcast to deploy a nationwide Drones-as-a-Service network across Switzerland. Three hundred Nokia Drone-in-a-Box units are planned for deployment to enable emergency response, perimeter protection, and infrastructure inspection to help keep public safety workers safe. Start Campus was awarded additional power by REN, the Portuguese transmission system operator. Arelion and Ciena successfully completed the world's first 1.6 terabits-per-second wavelengths data transmission in a live network field trial. Powered by Ciena’s state-of-the-art WaveLogic 6 Extreme, this milestone occurred on Arelion’s 470km route between its existing Points-of-Presence in Ashburn, Virginia (Equinix) facility and Telxius’ (Telxius-CLS) Virginia Beach cable landing station, increasing capacity between two critical locations in Arelion’s North American network.
