Nokia and eir to Extend IP Collaboration
eir and Nokia announced the extension of its IP collaboration to support the evolving needs and expectations of its customers with access to world-class technology and connectivity solutions. The agreement will see eir introduce the latest 400/800GE IP backbone for larger capacity to meet future traffic growth and Nokia’s 7750 Service Router, powered by Nokia’s in-house routing silicon, FP5, for greater flexibility, power efficiency and security.

New IBM SkillsBuild Certificates to be Deployed in Community College Systems
IBM announced two new IBM SkillsBuild certificates in cybersecurity and data analytics, which have been piloted and designed with community colleges. FCC Approves Final Rules To Support Wi-Fi Hotspots
The Federal Communications Commission announced that it has voted to approve final rules to support the students, school staff, and library patrons around the country who find themselves on the wrong side of the digital and educational divide. Now, schools and libraries will be able to utilize E-Rate resources to loan out Wi-Fi hotspots which will provide internet access for those individuals without a reliable connection at home.
