2012 is here, and the world is wonderfully mobile. This mobility is aided by changing concepts of social class and improved transportation technology, but it’s also enabled by devices that allow us to stay in touch no matter where we are or what we’re doing. In fact, there’s a good chance that if Tennyson had written that poem in 2011, he’d have written it on a cell phone or some other connected mobile device.
But this deluge of mobile technology presents us with almost as many puzzles as opportunities. In this issue of Pipeline, we ring in the New Year by checking out what devices will be ringing in 2012.
