Singtel’s RE:AI Partners With Cohesity To Launch Intelligent, Sovereign AI Data Security and Management Service

Singtel announced a partnership with Cohesity to provide an intelligent, sovereign AI data security and management service. This service addresses a critical limitation that enterprises face with their backup data, enabling them to transform their archives into a searchable knowledge base to unlock better insights and value.

Many enterprises have years’ worth of important information such as old documents, emails, reports and system records stored away in backup systems. These backups are often treated like a “digital storage room”. It is essential for recovery, but difficult for today’s large language models and AI applications to search or learn from as these AI tools are built to work only with current active data. The new offering from RE:AI and Cohesity empowers enterprises and government agencies to catalogue and organise vast amounts of historical data so it can be searched and queried in real time. This will help them to generate more accurate, data-driven responses from richer, longer-range context.

Mr Bill Chang, CEO of Singtel’s Digital InfraCo unit, said, "Enterprise backup data has traditionally been treated as a safeguard for recovery rather than a rich source of intelligence. By combining RE:AI's sovereign AI capabilities with market-leading data security capabilities from Cohesity, enterprises can finally harness historical data that has long remained untapped to generate deeper insights and make faster, more informed decisions. Importantly, they can do this while keeping sensitive information protected and within Singapore’s regulatory environment."

Through this partnership, Cohesity will also contribute R&D resources to Singtel Digital InfraCo’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) for Applied AI with NVIDIA announced in February 2026, thereby strengthening the CoE’s AI ecosystem for fault-tolerant, highly secure AI adoption across enterprises and government agencies.

“The future of AI must be built on a foundation of security and governance. Through our partnership with RE:AI, we are transforming protected enterprise data into a trusted, AI-ready knowledge layer within Singapore’s sovereign cloud environment,” said Mr Sanjay Poonen, president and CEO, Cohesity. “By combining Cohesity’s AI-powered data security and intelligent indexing with RE:AI’s infrastructure, organisations can enable agentic AI applications and accelerate insight – without compromising compliance, privacy, or control. Security should be the enabler of AI innovation, not the obstacle.”

Beyond searches, the service also enables enterprises to easily retrieve valuable information to reconstruct what was known at any point in time – critical for audits, investigations and regulatory reporting. It also strengthens cyber resilience. During incidents such as ransomware attacks, AI agents can quickly identify impacted systems and isolate affected data across backup history, accelerating response and recovery. The service is available in single- and multi-tenant configurations to meet the security and compliance needs of regulated sectors, including financial services, healthcare and government.
