Kinetic High Speed Fiber Connects 130,000

Kinetic by Windstream Builds Fiber Gigabit Connections to Nearly 130,000 Locations in the First Quarter Of 2021

Faster speeds fuel continued growth of Kinetic’s broadband customer base

Kinetic by Windstream, a long-trusted community partner for high-speed internet, is accelerating its deployment of symmetrical fiber-backed gigabit broadband service, enabling 129,000 customer locations in the first quarter of 2021. The new fiber builds are the first in a multi-year, $2 billion expansion of Kinetic’s network.

As a result of these builds and other network enhancements, Kinetic added approximately 13,000 net broadband customers in the first quarter.

This new construction is the latest phase in Kinetic’s years-long campaign to extend fiber optic cable deeper into the rural communities it serves. By the end of the year, Kinetic will have fiber gigabit connections available to more than 1 million homes and small and medium-sized businesses.

“Kinetic by Windstream is building the broadband network of the future. We are investing billions to bring fiber internet service to millions of houses across our 18-state footprint,” said Jeff Small, president of Kinetic. “Gigabit speeds are becoming increasingly important in an era when many are working remotely or accessing education or healthcare online. Kinetic is investing in its broadband network to meet the growing technology needs of its customers.”

Kinetic fiber empowers residential customers to navigate the internet safely from home with no lag times while they work, learn or stream entertainment services. Businesses ranging from small shops to enterprise-scale operations can take advantage of the fiber-backed network to deploy solutions that make their companies more efficient and profitable such as OfficeSuite UC® and SD-WAN.
