Burnlab Selects Omakase Player by Konstrukt as Native Player for Ceivo Media Asset Management Platform

Omakase’s Open-Source Framework Enables Playback Experience Tailored to Ceivo’s AI-first Specific Workflows

Konstrukt announced that Burnlab, a leading innovator in cloud-native media services, has selected the open-source Omakase Player by Konstrukt as the native playback framework for its Ceivo system.

Ceivo, created by Burnlab, is a first-of-its-kind, AI-first asset management system designed to streamline complex workflows for studios and distributors. By integrating Omakase Player, Ceivo now provides its users with industry-leading, frame-accurate browser-based playback, essential for professional quality control, compliance, and editorial tasks.

“When building a high-performance media supply chain like Ceivo, there is no room for compromise on playback precision,” said Aaron Sloman, Founder at Burnlab. “We chose Omakase Player for its frame-accurate foundation and open-source flexibility. This enabled our team to build custom extensions and deep integrations, ensuring the player feels like a seamless part of the Ceivo experience.”

Omakase Player was born out of an industry gap: the lack of a professional-grade, open-source media player for frame-accurate work in the browser. While open-source consumer-grade players are abundant, they lack the precision required for enterprise media operations. Omakase Player is the only open-source player in the media & entertainment market that provides frame-accurate synchronization of video, audio, subtitles, and other temporal metadata in a standard web browser.

“Burnlab knew they wanted a high-performance player they could build on for Ceivo,” said Igor Vezmar, Co-founder of Konstrukt. “By adopting and extending Omakase Player, the Ceivo platform delivers an industry-leading interface, proving that open-source collaboration is the fastest path to technical excellence in media engineering.”

Burnlab’s engineering team led the development of custom Ceivo extensions, leveraging Omakase Player’s modular architecture, frame-accurate playback, and support for multiple media formats to meet the requirements of its global client base.
