AppOmni Delivers Real-Time Agentic AI Security for ServiceNow

AppOmni announced the industry's first real-time agentic AI security solution specifically for ServiceNow. This AppOmni AI security ServiceNow announcement This breakthrough, named AgentGuard, is designed to protect ServiceNow's Now Assist AI agents against sophisticated threats such as prompt-injection attacks and data loss prevention violations. Extending AppOmni's comprehensive SaaS Security Platform, AgentGuard offers real-time detection, response, and proactive posture management to secure AI operations within enterprise environments. Crucially, the solution is informed by AppOmni Labs research, which highlighted significant security gaps where AI agent collaboration could be exploited for data exfiltration and privilege escalation, ensuring AppOmni delivers vital controls for safe and compliant AI adoption.

AppOmni, the leader in SaaS Security, today announced the industry's first real-time agentic AI security for ServiceNow. AppOmni AgentGuard prevents prompt-injection attacks, monitors and blocks data loss prevention violations, and quarantines malicious users from further bad interactions for ServiceNow's Now Assist AI agents. The feature extends AppOmni's SaaS Security Platform to protect ServiceNow AI agents end-to-end, from discovery and proactive posture to detection and response. This reflects AppOmni's continued focus on deep research, integrations with SaaS products, and enabling safe, compliant, and scalable AI use within SaaS environments.

As AI agents increasingly connect to sensitive SaaS data, the industry faces an escalating risk of AI-driven data exposure. This evolution makes AI Security Posture Management (AISPM), AI Threat Detection & Response (AITDR), and AI Prompt Security essential components of modern SaaS security.

AppOmni helps organizations overcome these emerging challenges by delivering real-time oversight and reliable controls to prevent AI-driven breaches, enhance visibility, automate compliance, and block unsafe actions.

Within ServiceNow, one of the world's largest SaaS platforms used by 8,400 organizations and 85% of the Fortune 500, AppOmni protects both AI agents supplied by ServiceNow and custom-built agents for these environments. Security teams gain complete visibility into Now Assist AI agents, along with the ability to set automated posture guardrails and use real-time detection. Built-in safeguards maintain a secure environment while allowing legitimate work to continue without disruption.

Research into real-world security risks identified by AppOmni Labs powers the new capabilities to strengthen AI agent protection. AppOmni Chief of SaaS Security Research, Aaron Costello, revealed today how malicious actors can exploit default configurations and silently recruit powerful ServiceNow Now Assist AI agents to copy and exfiltrate sensitive corporate data, modify records, and escalate privileges. He highlights how a harmless request can transform into a significant security breach by abusing agent-to-agent collaboration within ServiceNow Now Assist. The new features stop these threats for organizations using Now Assist agents, with Agentic AI Security support for additional platforms to come.

"This discovery is alarming because it isn't a bug in the AI, it's expected behavior as defined by certain default configuration options," said Aaron Costello, Chief of SaaS Security Research at AppOmni. "When agents can discover and recruit each other, a harmless request can quietly turn into an attack, with criminals stealing sensitive data or gaining more access to internal company systems. These settings are easy to overlook. If organizations using Now Assists AI agents aren't closely examining their configurations, they're likely already at risk. Our goal at AppOmni is to shine a light on these security gaps to help organizations and vendors raise the bar for SaaS AI security."

"AI innovation introduces new risks that demand proactive control," said Aaron Costello, Chief of SaaS Security Research at AppOmni. "With AgentGuard and foundational AISPM capabilities, AppOmni gives organizations real-time protection and visibility over how AI agents operate inside their SaaS environments."

These capabilities are seamlessly integrated into the AppOmni platform, providing customers with real-time Now Assist AI agent protection at no additional cost. Treating agents as first-class citizens in security, AppOmni represents a new era for SaaS security, where the principles of least privilege and Zero Trust fully extend to autonomous AI operations, empowering organizations and the industry to unlock AI's potential without increasing security risks.

"The proliferation of AI agents within critical business platforms like ServiceNow introduces a complex new attack surface that organizations are just beginning to grapple with," said Ying Ting Neoh, Industry Analyst at Frost and Sullivan. "AppOmni's AgentGuard and comprehensive AI agent security capabilities are vital for any enterprise looking to harness ServiceNow's AI power safely. By providing real-time threat detection and response, granular visibility, and automated posture enforcement, AppOmni empowers organizations to secure their Now Assist AI agent deployments, prevent sophisticated attacks like prompt injection, and maintain compliance without stifling innovation."
