Ericsson Brings 5G to Indonesia Indosat Ooredoo launches Ericsson-powered 5G in JakartaIndonesian communications service provider, Indosat Ooredoo, has partnered with Ericsson to launch commercial 5G services in the nation’s capital, Jakarta, the first milestone of wider 5G deployment ambitions in Indonesia. Ericsson is powering the 5G network through Ericsson Radio System products and solutions, including Ericsson Spectrum Sharing The 5G services will provide Indosat Ooredoo’s subscriber customers with access to enhanced mobile broadband andwill help to accelerate Jakarta’s digital transformation towards realizing its smart city vision. The high speeds, low latency and large data-handling capabilities of the technology will also help to drive Industry 4.0 opportunities for Indosat Ooredoo’s enterprise, industry and public sector customers by enabling a wide range of unique next-gen use cases and driving innovation. The city’s manufacturing industry, public services and healthcare sector are among the sectors set to benefit from 5G.
