DHS S&T Showcases Tech Advances at IWCE 2019

The DHS Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) is showcasing technology advances, program impacts, investments, and emergency communications solutions at this year’s International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE). S&T will be available at booth #715 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, through March 8, 2019.

In addition to multiple panel sessions to discuss current and past exercises and technology pilots, S&T is featuring technologies including the Information Sharing Assessment Tool (ISAT), an easy-to-use, free self-assessment tool for first responders.

Developed in coordination with public safety practitioners representing multiple-disciplines across the government, ISAT allows the public safety community to pinpoint their information sharing capabilities and gaps in 20 minutes or less; better understand their progress and achievements; and facilitate inter-agency information sharing discussions among mutual aid partners.

“The ISAT is designed to pinpoint our most critical information sharing issues,” explained DHS S&T Program Manager Ron Langhelm. “We look forward to helping members of the public safety community use the tool to improve their communications capabilities.”

To keep pace with technology advances and evolving threats, DHS wants to hear from the public safety community about requirements. “We want to get you the tools and techniques you need to save lives,” Langhelm said. Visit us in booth #715 to learn how DHS is investing in solutions to make response operations more safe, secure, and resilient.
