Network and Mobile News

Adtran announced that Switzerland’s Federal Institute of Metrology METAS has successfully deployed its OSA 3300 HP, improving national timekeeping performance and supporting critical scientific research. DE-CIX and GCX have signed a strategic partnership agreement to enhance global connectivity. Turkcell and ZTE have achieved a milestone in telecommunications by setting the record for Europe's fastest 5G-Advanced speed, surpassing 32 Gbps during an ambitious trial in Istanbul. Ericsson and e& have signed a Memorandum of Understanding, for the collaborative exploration of 6G technology, its use cases and future network evolution.



Vodafone and AMD are collaborating on mobile base station silicon chip designs that will give 5G radios the required horsepower to meet future customer demand for higher-capacity AI and digital services, quickly and reliably. Huawei launched GigaGear, the world's first 5G/5.5G experience accelerator. This solution features the convergence of software and hardware, speeding up new real-time services such as New Calling, live streams, robotaxis, and human-like AI agents that the mobile industry sees as key to significantly boosting Net Promoter Scores and network resource utilization. Swisscom will leverage Netcracker’s cloud-native OSS and operations solutions to support its strategy of adopting TM Forum’s Open Digital Architecture to achieve decoupling and autonomy of architectural domains.

Virgin Media O2 has successfully brought together its fixed and mobile networks to create a Converged Interconnect Network, a new network built to carry both mobile and fixed traffic. Singtel and Ericsson formed a partnership to deploy 5G advanced connectivity solutions at Tuas Port in Singapore. This is in support of PSA Singapore’s plans to build the world’s largest fully automated port by the 2040s to meet the rapidly rising demand for global transshipment. Juniper Networks and Elisa Oyj deployed the world’s first 800Gbps Ethernet services over 800ZR coherent transceivers. The Federal Communications Commission announced adopted final rules for cellular-vehicle-to-everything technology.  These rules will improve transportation safety and permit more efficient mobility as this advanced communications technology is integrated into vehicles and infrastructure.

Salesforce released Agentforce, a new layer on the Salesforce Platform that enables companies to build and deploy AI agents that can autonomously take action across any business function. Fortinet expanded generative AI capabilities across its product portfolio with the launch of two new integrations with FortiAI, Fortinet’s AI-powered security assistant that uses GenAI to guide, simplify, and automate security
