Nanyang Polytechnic Students To Build AI Solutions on New ServiceNow Protected Platform Singapore

ServiceNow launches Protected Platform to accelerate AI innovation and strengthen data security for Singapore Government and regulated industries

ServiceNow announced the ServiceNow Protected Platform Singapore, a secure, regulatory‑compliant cloud platform that stores and processes data within Singapore, enabling AI‑powered innovation across government and regulated industries.

In parallel, ServiceNow announced a strategic collaboration with Nanyang Polytechnic to accelerate AI skills development and build a future‑ready workforce for Singapore’s digital economy. As part of this initiative, NYP students will gain hands‑on experience by building real‑world AI solutions on the new SPP‑SG platform, contributing directly to government use cases and supporting Singapore’s vision for a digitally resilient and trusted AI ecosystem.

Students to build real‑world government use cases on SPP‑SG

NYP and ServiceNow will co‑develop AI‑focused curriculum, industry certifications, and applied research projects using the ServiceNow Platform. Students will tackle real‑world public sector challenges and develop solutions that will be securely deployed via SPP‑SG.

This hands‑on learning model bridges academic theory with practical impact, allowing students to directly contribute to Singapore’s digital transformation. NYP will also serve as a testbed for new innovations emerging from the ServiceNow Digital Innovation Hub.

Ms Tan Soon Keow, Director, School of Information Technology at NYP said, “This collaboration with ServiceNow enables our students to deepen their AI capabilities through meaningful internships and hands‑on industry projects. The collaboration will also elevate how we nurture and develop talent at NYP to succeed in an AI‑powered economy.”

Collaboration aims to boost employability and support Singapore’s digital economy goals

Under this collaboration, NYP aims to train over 1,500 pre‑employment training (PET) and continuing education and training students by 2030, equipping them with valuable in‑demand skills to succeed in the evolving job market. Students from NYP’s School of Information Technology will also be able to obtain the ‘Certified System Administrator Certification’ – an additional credential that demonstrates their proficiency in the management of the ServiceNow platform.

A secure and regulatory‑compliant platform for Singapore’s public sector

Complementing its investments in talent and skills, ServiceNow’s launch of SPP‑SG extends the availability of its AI‑powered platform to government agencies and regulated industries in Singapore. The platform is built on Microsoft Azure, reinforcing a long‑standing strategic partnership. This enhances ServiceNow’s ongoing commitment to supporting Singapore’s Smart Nation vision by enabling the secure deployment of AI‑powered workflows at scale.

Pat Casey, one of ServiceNow’s founding members, Chief Technology Officer and EVP of Dev Ops said, “This marks a pivotal moment in our commitment to Singapore – a nation that has long set the standard for secure, responsible innovation. With SPP‑SG, we’re enabling government and regulated industries to innovate with AI without compromising security, while our collaboration with institutions like NYP helps ensure Singapore continues to lead with talent, trust, and technology.”

SPP‑SG is designed to enable full data residency for all customer data by keeping it stored, processed and secured within Singapore’s borders. It is purpose‑built to address the increasing regulatory requirements and data protection concerns of customers in highly regulated industries by offering enhanced security features and data residency options.

SPP‑SG follows robust security processes certified against multiple international standards, reaffirming our commitment to information security and compliance. The platform is also pursuing MTCS Level 3 certification, Singapore’s most stringent cloud security standard for managing highly sensitive public sector data and regulated workloads. This gives public agencies and enterprises confidence in the platform’s ability to meet their security and compliance needs. An independent audit report will be available upon request.
