LINX NoVA Completes Advanced Technological Upgrade, Elevating Internet Exchange Capabilities

Future-Proof Network Ready to Meet Global Peering Demands with Enhanced Speed and Reliability

The London Internet Exchange announced that it has successfully completed a state-of-the-art tech upgrade in partnership with Nokia, reinforcing LINX NoVA’s status as a premier hub for enhanced peering capabilities and network optimization.

Over the past decade, LINX NoVA has grown into a critical platform for U.S. internet activity. This recent upgrade includes the deployment of Nokia's advanced 7220 IXR routers equipped with SR Linux NOS, which introduces a robust 400GE capacity. This refresh propels the exchange into the future, ready to meet peering needs with unparalleled efficiency and reliability.

"The successful upgrade of our infrastructure is a major milestone in our commitment to providing the best possible service and connectivity,” said Richard Petrie, LINX's Chief Technology Officer. “By integrating Nokia’s technology, we are positioning LINX NoVA to be among the leading internet exchange points, fully equipped to manage our members' increasing traffic and complex demands."

The completion of this technological enhancement arrives at an optimal time for networks seeking to enhance their peering capabilities. The upgraded infrastructure significantly reduces latency, bolsters security, and improves scalability, making it an ideal environment to maximize connectivity and performance. Additionally, LINX NoVA recently introduced the Microsoft Azure Peering Service (MAPS), providing direct connections to Microsoft's cloud services, such as Azure, Office 365, and Dynamics 365. This optimizes performance for enterprises dependent on these essential tools.

Benefits of Peering With LINX NoVA

LINX NoVA's platform, as a data center-neutral, interconnected platform, enables members to exchange traffic more efficiently, manage complex network requirements, and adapt to rapid technological shifts. Direct traffic routing greatly enhances network performance by cutting latency and speeding up data transfers, reducing costs and lowering transit expenses. Members also gain increased control over their traffic flows, which is necessary to manage spikes and network operations effectively. Additionally, LINX NoVA's robust infrastructure is designed to support the growth needs of networks, accommodating future advancements and traffic increases without compromising performance.
