The completion of this project is the result of a $6.8 million public-private partnership aimed at enhancing digital access for residents and creating economic opportunity in the region. This project provides Kinetic’s multi-gigabit internet speeds to eligible locations in the county like the communities of Cedar Grove, Solitude, and Brownington. Under this partnership, Bullitt County committed $2 million, while Kinetic invested $4.8 million of private capital and covered any associated cost overruns. “Today, 6,300 homes and businesses in remote areas of this great county can now benefit from Kinetic’s fiber internet services,” said Bullitt County Judge Jerry Summers. “The combined investment of Kinetic and Bullitt County will ensure that more citizens here can enjoy the benefits of fiber optic internet speeds to improve the way we work, play and live across the Commonwealth.” High-speed internet is a necessity in today’s world, facilitating remote work, bolstering local businesses, enhancing educational opportunities, and improving access to telehealth services. “With the infrastructure now in place, residents and businesses can immediately sign up for high-speed fiber internet service,” said Stephanie Bell, Kinetic’s vice president of Government Affairs in Kentucky. “The completion of this substantial project will enhance the course of our communities economically for many years.” Research says that communities with fiber experience 213% higher business growth and 10% higher self-employment and 14-17% increase in home values. Kinetic is engaged in a multi-year $2 billion investment initiative to expand fiber broadband in rural America. By the end of 2025, more than 40 percent of the homes and businesses in our 18-state footprint will have access to fiber connections delivering Gigabit internet speeds. Kinetic is committed to ensuring customer satisfaction and will actively monitor service performance while encouraging user feedback to make any necessary adjustments and improvements.
