Ericsson announced that it is supporting Odido in delivering a best-in-class 5G network experience in the Netherlands, as recognized by leading benchmarking organization Opensignal. With wins in all 14 measured categories, Odido's 5G network sets a new benchmark for speed, consistency, and user experience across the country.

Opensignal, a globally recognized authority on telecom network performance, conducts billions of independent measurements daily, analyzing real-world user experiences. The latest report confirms that Odido customers benefit from the fastest and most reliable 5G network in the Netherlands, particularly in download speeds, gaming, video streaming, and voice app performance.

Setting the standard for 5G performance

The latest Opensignal assessment highlights Odido’s impressive achievement in providing the most consistent 5G network experience in the Netherlands. With an unparalleled average 5G download speed of 331.9 Mbps, Odido customers enjoy seamless connectivity, enhanced media streaming, and superior reliability for voice and collaboration applications like WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, and FaceTime.

“In activating the 3.5 GHz band, our ambition was to be able to immediately introduce customers to the benefits of our upgraded 5G network. The Opensignal measurement results recognize our continued commitment to provide the best mobile 5G network. I am proud of the results and the huge lead we have with our 5G network. Our customers benefit from the highest speed and reliability,” said Søren Abildgaard, CEO at Odido. “That we now score best in all categories is fantastic confirmation of our hard work and motivates us to keep raising the bar.”

Ericsson technology enabling 5G leadership

Odido’s award-winning network is powered by Ericsson’s cutting-edge 5G technology, including Massive MIMO and advanced network solutions designed to enhance speed, capacity, and coverage. Since becoming the first Dutch provider to activate the 3.5 GHz band in 2024, Odido has upgraded more than 80 percent of its transmission sites, ensuring an optimized network experience for its customers.

“The 3.5 GHz band is a game changer for 5G, significantly enhancing speed and capacity,” said Daniel Leimbach, Head of Customer Unit Western Europe at Ericsson. “This recognition by Opensignal highlights the impact of our technology in creating a high-performance, future-ready network. We are proud to support Odido in delivering superior connectivity and pushing the boundaries of what 5G can achieve.”

A track record of excellence

Odido’s Opensignal achievement follows previous accolades from leading industry benchmarks, including Ookla and umlaut. Last month, Odido received the highest possible rating—'outstanding'—from umlaut, while Ookla again confirmed Odido as the fastest 5G network provider in the Netherlands. These awards reflect Odido’s commitment to delivering the best possible network experience, supported by Ericsson’s state-of-the-art 5G infrastructure.

With an unwavering focus on innovation and network excellence, Ericsson continues to support Odido in advancing the capabilities of 5G, ensuring customers in the Netherlands benefit from the fastest, most reliable, and future-proof mobile network.
