Community IX Launches CIX-NoVA Internet Exchange in Virginia

New Internet Exchange in Northern Virginia to offer cost-competitive interconnection in the world’s largest data center market

Community IX announced the opening of CIX-NoVA, marking its first expansion into Northern Virginia. Initially operating in data centers located in Ashburn and Reston, the new exchange adds to the company’s established presence in South Florida (FL-IX) and Atlanta (CIX-ATL).

"Since beginning operations in 2015, we’ve focused on providing a cost-effective, community-driven service to our membership and have experienced tremendous growth," said Randy Epstein, co-founder and Executive Director of Community IX. "Northern Virginia has long been on our radar, and we are proud to now deliver this service in the world’s largest connectivity hub."

CIX-NoVA enables ISPs, content providers, and enterprises to exchange IP traffic quickly and cost-effectively across multiple sites in Northern Virginia. Initial connections are available in Ashburn and Reston, with 10G and 100G port connections offered free for the first year under a two-year agreement. 400G options are also available.
