NTCA Members Enhance Connectivity with USDA ReConnect FundingNTCA Members Receive USDA ReConnect FundingMembers of NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association received over $400 million in loans and grants for broadband deployment through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s latest distribution of ReConnect Program funding. The funding will support service to over 73,000 people, nearly 2,000 businesses, over 5,500 farms and 122 schools. The agency has awarded more than a billion dollars to NTCA members so far this year, including previously announced awards of approximately $375 million and $200 million through its ReConnect and Telecommunications Infrastructure Loan and Loan Guarantee programs. “I couldn’t be happier to see so many of our hard-working members again receive awards to connect more rural Americans with high-speed internet,” said NTCA Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield. “The USDA ReConnect program is a critical tool to connect every home and business to affordable, high-quality internet, and we are grateful for the continued efforts of the agency to get much-needed funding out the door as quickly as possible.” Source: NCTA media announcement
