Fujitsu Brings Mobile Network Product Manufacturing to its U.S. Plant

Fujitsu today announced it is partnering with South Korean telecom technology provider HFR Inc to produce its network equipment at Fujitsu's Richardson Texas manufacturing facility which will increase its workforce to meet the need

Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. is partnering with HFR, Inc., a South Korean telecom technology specialist, to produce the Smart CPRI Transport solution at Fujitsu’s Richardson, Texas-based manufacturing plant. Fujitsu will increase its skilled manufacturing workforce to produce the product, which creates an intelligent means by which mobile network operators can implement Centralized Radio Access Network (C-RAN) architectures.

By bringing Smart CPRI Transport manufacturing to its Richardson facilities, Fujitsu delivers additional value to its carrier customers. Carriers often demand new product orders be processed and shipped very quickly to keep implementations on schedule. By manufacturing solutions in the United States, Fujitsu can deliver the needed product in a timely fashion. And because the Smart CPRI Transport solution is made in the same manufacturing plant as other Fujitsu solutions, carrier customers can have complete confidence in its performance and reliability.

“Our domestic manufacturing operations are strategically important to the business and greatly valued by our customers,” said Barrie Hall, senior vice president of fulfillment, Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. “The manufacturing investments Fujitsu continues to make in Richardson allow us to produce the highest-quality communications networking equipment on the market. Additionally, our reputation is motivating third-party communications technology designers to consider Fujitsu for their North American manufacturing, creating yet more U.S.-based manufacturing jobs.”

“We want to be associated with Fujitsu because they understand and are trusted by North America’s leading carriers,” said Peter K. Cho, senior vice president of North American Operations, HFR, Inc. “By partnering with Fujitsu on the production of our fronthaul solutions for C-RAN, carriers know they’ll receive the most innovative solution manufactured to the highest quality standards. This collaboration is an illustration of the commitment to carrier success shared by both Fujitsu and HFR.”

Fujitsu Network Communications was among the first companies to become certified to the rigorous TL-9000 quality standard and is a charter member of the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum. Today, the QuEST Forum acknowledges several Fujitsu processes as industry best practices and the company is pleased to extend this quality commitment to its partners.
