Freedom Mobile today announced the expansion of its powerful new LTE network in Calgary and Edmonton, giving people in both cities access to faster data speeds, smoother streaming and faster downloading.

"Canadians have told us that providing them with reliable network coverage that offers enhanced speeds and faster downloads at a fair and reasonable price is a priority for them, and we've listened," said Paul McAleese, Chief Operating Officer, Freedom Mobile. "The launch of our powerful new LTE network furthers our commitment to providing Freedom Mobile customers in Calgary and Edmonton access to the same enhanced experience that those in the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario and the Greater Vancouver Area currently enjoy."

Calgarians and Edmontonians looking to access Freedom Mobile's LTE network can do so by choosing from a range of LTE-ready handsets, including the new Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. Those looking to switch to LTE can also join one of Freedom Mobile's data plans, which start for as low as $30 per month.

Having first launched its LTE network in Toronto and Vancouver, and surrounding areas in November 2016, Freedom Mobile will continue forward with planned updates for a complete LTE rollout by the end of 2017.

All customers also currently have complimentary access to the Freedom Wi-Fi trial service, which allows them to enjoy convenient connectivity and access data without using their data plan at over 65,000 hotspots across Western Canada. LTE customers also have access to Wi-Fi calling through select handsets.
